About Me & a Bit of History

Wild Ozark Web Services

Hi there, Roxann Riedel here. You may know me as ‘Madison Woods’, if you’re an art enthusiast or a reader of rural fantasy. I’m the whole team for this small web services operation.

History

I’ve been creating websites since the days of HTML, somewhere around 1996 doing the coding and making my own clip art to decorate my site.

When I first started using computers, it was during the days of DOS and a c-prompt, and floppy drives were the way to store data. Getting online meant a dial-up modem, and text-based forums were the way to chat with other like-minded folks.

Then came the days of WYSIWYG, and making a website look pleasing was much easier! Now I use WordPress (and WooCommerce for e-stores).

I’m NOT a web developer anymore and I don’t do coding except for making adjustments to certain things. If you need something I can’t handle, I’ll try to find someone for you who can do that job.

I’m the Whole Wild Ozark Team

But, when your business is tiny and you can’t afford to hire a team, you either have to learn how to do it for yourself or find someone affordable who can do it for you.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to build a website, how to implement basic SEO, how to interface with Google in ways that help my business make a broader reach with the Business Profile and Google Merchant.

I’ve also gotten pretty good at Branding.

Website Portfolio

Here’s a sampling of websites I’ve created. Some of them are one-and-done jobs that I handed off to the client to further process, some are minimal management (update plugins and keep things current on the backend), and some are my own that I do a lot of upkeep and maintenance on.

Other Services I Offer

  • Google Map Edits
  • Google Business Listing (and Bing, Yahoo, or Yelp)
  • Website Tutoring (learn to use WordPress to build & maintain your own site)
  • Print Portfolio or Art Book Publishing (DIY tutoring or layout services for Amazon)

Other Career Interests

Aside from the web-related things, here’s the other things I do:

  • real estate (Madison and Carroll counties in Arkansas) everything I do with web services is also employed in this aspect of my life. As an agent, I put my writing skills to work for property descriptions, blog posts, and my graphic design goes into my ads and website layouts for property-related posts.
  • painting with Wild Ozark pigments – to promote my art business, I use all of my skills pertaining to my web services, as well. These benefit my own businesses in the same way they can benefit yours.
  • write. I write copy for my own websites, ads, non-fiction articles and fiction. Writing is a huge part of everything I do with all of my career facets.
